Welcome to the web page for Cornersville Elementary's Special Education! We serve students in all K-6 grades here at Cornersville.
Our students who benefit from an individualized, small group instructional setting may come to your resource classroom for academic support in the subjects of reading, English, spelling, and/or math.
We follow the curriculum for our grade levels as closely as we can. Our general education teachers e-mail their lesson plans to me so that we can follow them at a modified pace. The pace at which we complete lessons is adjustable in order to meet the needs of our students.
The IEP goals for our students are selected from A Blueprint for Learning: A Teacher's Guide to the Tennessee Curriculum which was developed by the State of Tennessee Department of Education. The IEP goals are individualized to meet each student's current needs. We focus on challenging our students and holding them as closely as possible to the current curriculum standards. By using these procedures, we feel that they have the best opportunity to return to their general education classroom for all instruction.
I continue to enjoy frequent, effective communication with parents of our students and with the general education teachers here at CES.
