Cornersville Action Team (C.A.T.)
This is the parent organization for Cornersville Elementary. The meetings are a time when parents and teachers get together and discuss business and needs of the school. Ideas for school fundraisers are discussed and ways that the money can be spent to benefit the school are discussed as well. There are items that the school needs/wants that are not covered under the school budget. The Action Team tries to find ways to raise the money and purchase these non-covered items. Past purchases include new school playground equipment, benches, a digital camera, a wheel chair, laminating film and a school sign, just to name a few. Other activities sponsored by the Action Team include an appreciation lunch for the entire staff in May, presentation of a scholarship to a graduating Senior, and a reception for the Jr. Beta club. There are three major fundraisers per year for the Action Team. They are the T-shirt sale, Fall Festival and the Catalog Order fundraiser.
To become a member of the Action Team there is an annual $5.00 fee. The Action Team meets the second Monday of each month at 5:30 in the cafeteria. Everyone is welcome to come. There is $25.00 given to the teacher who has the most parents present for the meeting. This is a great opportunity for teachers to pick up a little extra cash for their classrooms.
